Tornado - Don't Miss This One!

Hunnington Fragrance 55 VG 87
The December 2011 proof run has witnessed the arrival of a new star emerging from our Young Bull Proving Scheme. CASTERN TORNADO (McCornick Nelson/ Castern Tulip EX 92 (3) LP 60) announced his arrival on the scene at the Dairy Event and Livestock Show in Birmingham in September when one of his first daughters to calve Hunnington Fragrance 55 VG 87 burst on to the scene to win the Heifer Championship having previously been Interbreed Champion at Oswestry and Reserve at Nantwich. Over the last few months his first 13 daughters have classified to average 82.4 points giving him an overall Type figure of +1.1 with a mammary score of +1.2. Beautiful Ayrshire udders are the name of the game with figures of +1.3 Fore udder attachment and +2.0 Rear udder height! There is also real engine room capacity in his daughters with a Chest width score of +2.6. Legs can be slightly straight with a Rear leg side score of -0.3 but daughters have a great Foot angle score of + 1.7.
Production figures show pluses across the board as you would expect from his high producing, long lasting dam:
+221 kgs Milk

However as with all Tornados there has to be a downside and unfortunately stocks of semen are limited due to the untimely death of the bull. As his daughters have calved this autumn Tornado has become one of our top sellers in October, November and December so our advice is to get your orders in early to avoid disappointment
Also worthy of consideration should be Tornados maternal brother CASTERN THUNDER one of the first sons to enter our scheme by the high type bull Rosehill Blackthorn. The combination of Blackthorn and a superb cow family renowned for their consistent high yields of quality milk with regular calving over long working lives is one that really excites especially following the early successes of Tornado. With a sire stack of Rosehill Blackthorn, Bankend Lord Ontario. Waxham Winning Streak and Wheatrig Lenas Commander you can't fail to be impressed
TORNADO AND THUNDER, TWO STORMS YOU DONT WANT TO MISS!
