CSA Bulls Sire Sale Toppers At Acton Dispersal

At the recent dispersal of the Acton herd of Ayrshires, John Tomlinson of Church Farm, Acton, Nantwich was rewarded for his loyal support shown to Cattle Services (Ayr) Ltd bulls over many years with the highest priced milker of 2011, the third top price in the breed, and some incredible prices achieved for animals in all age groups, all by CSA sires.

Top price in 2011 for an Ayrshire in-milk cow was 9000 gns given for the outstanding Acton Saltire Peggy EX 92 EX 94 MAMM (Sire - Stevenson's Saltire), the breed champion at Cheshire and Newport shows this year.  This outstanding Saltire daughter was milking with her third having calved in April and PD'd back in-calf to Rosehill Blackthorn.  She sold to Philip Williams, Haverfordwest.

Acton CBC Peggy VG 86

Contending bidder for the top priced animal Tracy Martin, Torrington, Devon did not go home disappointed as she was the successful bidder for the second top seller Acton CBC Peggy VG 87 3YR at 7100 gns.  This daughter of Carnell Bright Crown had already won Supreme Champion Heifer at Anglesey Show and 1st at Newport Show in 2011 and was sold giving 33.2 kgs.

Third top seller was Acton Princes Poker VG 87, a July calved daughter of McCornick Nelson milking with her third calf.  Already a Champion at Minsterly and Newport Shows in 2010 she was purchased by Steve Oultram, Ewloe, Flintshire for 6100 gns.  Her daughter Acton HVG Princess Poker (sire - Hidden Valley Garth) just fresh calved, sold for 3100 gns to the same buyer and is already up to 34 kgs daily.

At 3400 gns Geoff Benson of Tarporley secured the stylish Acton Mandella Peggy 2 VG 85 3YR (sire - Hunnington Mandella).  Calved in January she was sold still giving 23.9 kgs and PD'd back in-calf to Brieryside Jubilant Scot.

Another Ayrshire to break the 3000 gns mark was Acton Jubilant Punch who sold for 3200 gns to Jessie Bostock of Biddulph, Stoke-on-Trent.  A daughter of Brieryside Jubilant Scot, she has already won classes at Cheshire and Nantwich and was sold giving 33 kgs.
